Shaun Tarbuck

Shaun joined the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) in 1995 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2005, in which time ICMIF has grown from 65 members to 205 members in 60 countries. Shaun has been involved with the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda since pledging $400bn by 2020 at the UN General Assembly in 2014, which ICMIF members have subsequently achieved. He has subsequently spoken at all the biennial UNDRR Conferences and many other UN-designated events. He has been instrumental in numerous global partnerships resulting in innovations including the world’s first Resiliency benchmark for insurers and the ‘ICMIF Calibrated Insurance SDG Calculator’ (in partnership with Swiss Re and in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme Principles for Sustainable Insurance (UNEP PSI). Shaun holds board positions for numerous initiatives including the Climate Bonds Initiative, the Insurance Development Forum (IDF) Steering Committee and DRR task force, UNDRR Convened Investment Advisory Board, UNDP – IRFF, International Cooperative Alliance and Coop Exchange, and is a member of the B20 Financing Growth and Infrastructure task force and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) – Insurance sector task force.
