Greetings! Calling all students, alumni, and faculty members of academic institutions around the world.
It is that time of year to submit your abstract to present at the 11th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), September 18–20, 2023. Last year’s ICSD welcomed over 2,000 participants from more than 100 countries. The theme of the 2023 ICSD is “The Midpoint of the SDGs: Global and Local Progress & Challenges.” The aim of the conference is to bring together persons interested in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and involved in research, policy, practice, and business. If interested in this terrific opportunity to present your work, you do not need to attend the event in person to submit or present an abstract or paper, as online presentations are accepted. The deadline is May 1 by 11:00 pm Eastern Standard Time/New York Time for your proposed online presentation. Apply today! Submit here. For those of you who are not planning to present at the conference, please join us as observers (i.e., non-presenters).
Also, for the second year, between August and September prior to ICSD, we will hold a total of four online ICSD Global Speakers Series of one hour each on different days. Each speaker will deliver a 40-minute presentation with 20 minutes for questions and answers on their current field of employment and its future, as well as what knowledge, skills, and personal attributes are crucial in the workforce of the 21st century. The goal of the Global Speaker Series is to enhance the impact and value of ICSD for higher education students or recent graduates by expanding content on job readiness in the age of sustainable development goals. We would like to feature four sessions with one speaker each from four of the following regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, or North America. The event will take place via Zoom, and the SDSN event team will support logistics.
- Session 1: Wednesday, August 30 (tentative)
- Session 1: Wednesday, September 6 (tentative)
- Session 2: Wednesday, September 13 (tentative)
- Session 3: Wednesday, September 20 (tentative)
The MDP secretariat is actively looking for excellent and experienced development practitioners who can be global speakers at no cost. Although the MDP Secretariat has a list of possible names, if you know of a professional or development practitioner from the private sector, academic, government, or civil society, please send the MDP Secretariat their name, contact information, and a couple of sentences on why you feel they would be good candidates for the Global Speakers Series.
We look forward to receiving your abstracts and seeing you during the Global Speakers Series.
