Professor Vinod Paul is the Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is also the director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Newborn Health for South East Asia Region. Professor Paul was instrumental in launching the neonatal resuscitation program in India, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka, and in developing the maternal and child health strategy of the India™s Reproductive and Child Health program. He has been a member of several committees and expert groups of the Indian Planning Commission, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Women and Child Health, Department of Biotechnology and the Indian Council of Medical Research. He was the Senior Policy Advisor, Saving Newborn Lives (Save the Children) in 2002-04, and a member of the United Nations Millennium Project Task Force on Child Health and Maternal Health (2005-05). Professor Paul is a member of the Health for All thematic group of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
