Holiday Greetings From SDG Academy

Dear SDG Academy Community,

As we close out the year together, we thank you for contributing to our mission to achieve the SDGs! With your partnership, learning, and advising, the SDG Academy community continues to grow, adding to a global movement of committed practitioners and scholars. (# learners this calendar year?)

Our year began with a momentous January, participating in the UN ECOSOC Partnership Forum and launching both a new course and a position paper. In July, we joined colleagues in New York for the inaugural Global Higher Education Symposium, where discussions led to a consensus statement around the important roles that higher education institutions play in advancing both the science policy interface and progress toward the SDGs. In November, we held a 5-day intensive leadership workshop in Dubai, UAE, and hosted four virtual events at the World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar, underscoring the importance of education in sustainable development.  In addition, this year, we proudly launched the second annual Global Challenge! MDP Students are teaming up across oceans, borders, and campuses to tackle the pressing issues of sustainable development—all while competing for prize funding for the most innovative solutions.

As we enter 2026, we look forward to continued growth, as our catalog grows to more than 55  free online courses. We are also looking forward to the official launch of the Higher Education track of Ages of Globalization, including live seminars with SDSN President Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs.

Wishing you all happy holidays and a joyous, sustainable New Year!

With appreciation,

The SDG Academy Team
