Zafar Samadov is a Program Officer, Partnerships, at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Zafar supports IRENA on multilateral and bilateral partnerships initiatives, including: Collaborative Framework Enhancing Dialogue on High Shares of Renewables, Alliance for Industry Decarbonization, Utilities for Net Zero Alliance, and Energy Compact on Renewable Energy for United Nations Peacekeeping.
Over the last 25 years Zafar has been working on policy, technical, investment, and partnership dimensions of the energy transition, from different perspectives (international cooperation, partnership, consultancy, industry association, engineering, and development assistance).
Zafar holds a Master of Science in International Management from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Osemi.
