Sung Jin Kang is a Professor in the Department of Economics, an adjunct professor in Graduate School of Energy and Environment, and the director of Institute of Sustainable Development at Korea University. His main research fields are issues on sustainable development, green growth, climate change, and economic development (foreign direct investment, poverty reduction and foreign aid). He has worked as a policy advisor to the Korean government and various international organizations related to green growth and sustainable development. Before joining Korea University in 2003, he has worked at the University of Tsukuba (1999-2003) in Japan just after receiving Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University.
