Robert McLean

Rob is a Senior Program Specialist in Global Health at Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). In this role, he leads IDRC’s flagship research program in climate and health: Advancing Research for Climate and Health (ARCH). Rob has worked across public, private, NGO, and academic sectors, and has written about this experience in venues ranging from Nature to the Stanford Social Innovation Review. Rob has been awarded major international research grants and has contributed to the development of multiple large international research partnerships which address the challenge of moving research knowledge to scale. His recent book with John Gargani, Scaling Impact: Innovation for the Public Good (Routledge) has been translated into multiple languages. Rob holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine of Stellenbosch University, South Africa and an MSc from the Global Development Institute of the University of Manchester, UK.
