Petronella is the Executive Manager of Research Support and Coordination, and formerly Principal Economist at the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa. She leads a team responsible for partnership development, scaling research impact, technology transfer, impact assessment, and the integration of gender and socio-economic perspectives in scientific research programs. Petronella holds a PhD in environmental economics from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and an MSc in agricultural economics from the University of Zimbabwe and has authored and co-authored more than 50 articles in peer reviewed journals and book chapters. Petronella has more than 30 years of international experience working as a lecturer, researcher and facilitator for multistakeholder platforms and in multidisciplinary teams. She has served in national and international expert roles, including as a Scaling Advisor for Canada’s International Development Research Centre scalingXchange, and as an associate of the International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture.
