Dr. Aishath Muneeza is an Associate Professor at the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Malaysia. She is the first female Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and was the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of the Republic of Maldives. Dr. Muneeza is the former chairman of the Board of Maldives Hajj Corporation of Maldives, the national hajj pilgrimage fund. She sits in various Shariah advisory bodies of Islamic financial institutions such as CIMB Islamic and Munich Re and since 2011; she is the chairman of the apex Shariah Advisory Council of Capital Market Development Authority, Maldives.
