Opportuna Kweka

Opportuna is Associate Professor in Geography and Population Studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. Her work draws on political economy theoretical and structural approaches methodology. She teaches, geography of Africa, research methods, philosophy in geography and population studies. Opportuna has worked and published on migration, refugees, Maasai nomadic pastoralism, large-scale investments, climate change, health, water, development policy analysis, agency, and alternative and sustainable solutions for displaced persons. She currently holds the IDRC Research Chair on Forced displacement at the University of Dar es Salaam and is leading a project on climate change and displacement nexus.
