Abebaw Minaye

Abebaw holds a PhD in social work and social development and is an Associate Professor of Social Psychology. With 28 years of experience teaching social psychology, social work, education, and research methods at the graduate level, he currently chairs the Forced Displacement and Migration Studies Center at Addis Ababa University and serves as an IDRC Research Chair on Forced Displacement. He has published 36 peer-reviewed articles, including 19 on migration and displacement. He is a recipient of the OSSREA Young Scholars Grant (2009) and the Open Society Foundations Civil Society Scholarship Award (2016). Abebaw has conducted migration studies for major organizations and presented internationally on trafficking and migration.
