Dr. Sarah A. Tobin is a Research Professor and anthropologist focusing on Islam, economic anthropology, and displacement and migration in the Middle East at the Chr. Michelsen Institute in Bergen, Norway. Professor Tobin’s work explores transformations in religious and economic life, Islamic piety in the economy, Islamic Banking and Finance, and in the economic life of displaced Syrians in Jordan, Sudan, and Norway.
